Lieutenant Davey Luck is highly deserving and has diligently prepared himself for this promotion over the years. Davey joined Goochland County Fire-Rescue in December 2017 and has been assigned to Stations 1, 2, and 5 and is a member of the Water Rescue Team. In 2015 he started in the fire service volunteering with Hanover Fire and EMS Station 5. Firefighter EMT Luck is a graduate of the Virginia Fire Officers Academy and has completed Fire Officer 1 & 2, as well as other leadership courses. He is a cleared ladder truck driver operator and can often be found attending specialized training classes including the Bedford Truck School, the Smithfield Truck School, Driver/Aerial Operator, and Perfecting the Craft Truck Track. In 2021 Firefighter EMT Luck received the “Career Firefighter of the Year Award”.
During his off time, Davey enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His leisure activities often involve outdoor pursuits, such as hiking and spending time near the water. He also enjoys reading, kayaking, and rock climbing. Firefighter EMT Luck says, “I am enthusiastic about the new opportunities presented by this promotion and confident that I will be supported by a team of capable leaders in Goochland.”
