Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue & Emergency Services encourages the public to visit their website, www.GoochlandFire-Rescue.org, for all information related to fire-rescue and emergency services in Goochland County.

To increase transparency, the department recently added an interactive data dashboard to the site, powered by ImageTrend’s Continuum platform, which provides real time information. Found under the about section, the dashboard provides live insights into the response activity of career and volunteer personnel. Available information includes a response heat map, call types, and calls by district, among other information.

Visitors to the page can also learn more about emergency response in Goochland County such as department and station leadership and locations. The page also provides information about open burning laws, dry fire hydrants, ISO rating, fire and life safety information, and public service opportunities. In addition, residents can find valuable preparedness tips related to severe weather, fires, medical emergencies, and other disaster situations.

In addition, all department news, such as press releases and important announcements, are posted on the main page and in the news sections of the website. A core focus of the department is community risk reduction, which includes providing fire prevention and safety education resources. A list of upcoming department outreach and community training sessions can be found under the news section.

“This is the first of several dashboards on the horizon to provide greater transparency to our community.”, said Dr. Raley, County Administrator. “As outlined in my entry plan, our goal is to share meaningful data that reflects our daily operations. The Fire-Rescue dashboard represents first step in this effort.  We are excited to share this level of transparency with our community.”
