Centerville Station 3 Open House and Dedication Ceremony

Centerville Station 3 invited the public on March 23rd, 2024, for an open house and dedication ceremony that marked a significant moment in the history of the Goochland County Fire-Rescue Department. The event not only showcased the station’s newly renovated facilities but also paid tribute to retired county Fire-Rescue Chief L. Franklin “Frankie” Wise, Jr.

The newly renovated Centerville Station 3 gleamed with pride as visitors toured the upgraded facilities, which now boast state-of-the-art equipment and enhanced amenities. From improved living quarters for firefighters and other upgrades, the renovation reflects the department’s commitment to serving the community with excellence.

Amidst the excitement of the station’s transformation, the dedication ceremony held a special place of honor for Chief Wise. Chief Wise has dedicated a lifetime of service to the Goochland County Fire-Rescue Department and its citizens. Notably, he served as Company 3’s Captain for an impressive 15 consecutive years, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to the department and community.

The ceremony was a heartfelt recognition of Chief Wise’s invaluable contributions, with colleagues, friends, and community members coming together to express their gratitude and admiration. Chief Wise’s leadership, wisdom, and selflessness have left an indelible mark on the department and the lives he has touched throughout his volunteer career.

Chief Wise is truly deserving of this honor, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide the Goochland County Fire-Rescue Department for years to come. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all who attended, joining in the celebration of Chief Wise’s remarkable career and the bright future of Centerville Station 3.
