This past weekend, Goochland Firefighters participated in a poignant tribute to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001 at Richmond Raceway. The annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by first responders who risked everything to save others. By climbing 110 flights of stairs – the same number as the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers – these brave men and women are keeping the memory of their fallen brothers and sisters alive. The climb is a symbol of strength, resilience, and unity in the face of tragedy.
Each firefighter carried with them a small card honoring 1 of the 343 firefighters who died during the collapse of the Twin Towers. We will never forget!
